Original Creations & Vintage Finds

I’ve been working as a graphic designer and illustrator for many years and collected primitive American antiques for just about as long.  I have a history of exploring flea markets, antiques stores and little-known shops to find fabulous sophisticated junk.  Some may call it strange, but I prefer to drag home some odd ball piece of used furniture over something shiny and new. The patina and form of each unique find adds character to the mix.  I guess I see the beauty in old things and I am inspired by them too!

Joy In The Journey Design was established in 2003 with a line of original paper goods. Each piece of stationery including greeting cards,  note cards and gift sets are designed around my watercolor and color pencil illustrations.  The selection has expanded to include a variety of handmade giftware and vintage home décor.

Jewelry

Jewelry creations are individually handcrafted and inspired by antiques I’ve collected over time.  It could be a fabulous old button made into a ring or a necklace made with little pieces of art under glass.  Each piece of jewelry is unique and fun to wear.
